Freaky Friday!

Early dismissal threw us a bit off schedule. I had planned to pass out and go over History Test notes, but we didn't get that far before pick-ups started. If your child has "study notes" written for history, just ignore it for the weekend! We will catch up on Monday.

Thank You:
to Miss Caroline for sending in daisies for today's science lab! I will have lab pictures posted on the blog later this weekend, so be sure to check back!

Open House:

Early Dismissal

Cathedral Academy generally operates on a schedule parallel with Dorchester 2.  Dorchester 2 is beginning their release at 11:00 am today.

Elementary children will be released  at 12:00, and middle and high school students at 12:45 if parents can pick them up.  Classes will continue on a normal schedule until 2:30 at which time all students will be released, Elementary, Middle and High.

Students that are regular drivers may also leave at 12:45, but for safety and liability’s sake, cannot transport students other than who they normally transport.

We will still be in school if there are parents who CANNOT come until 2:30.

Extension students should be picked up as soon as possible and if at all possible, NO LATER than 5:00 pm.

Math Seatwork

Typically, we will complete one workbook page (front and back) in class each day. The students tear the page out and hook it behind the math tab in their binder. They do not need to tote the workbook home each day. Enough time is given for the seatwork portion to be completed in class, if the student is competent in the skill. If a student does not finish the classwork, it is expected to be completed at home that night. Each day in class, we will go over and check the previous day's classwork together. Students who have missed any problems are encouraged to meet with me during the seatwork time to get extra help. Please talk to your student to be sure they take advantage of this help, if needed. If you notice a pattern of your child having to finish the classwork at home every night, let me know.

Taking notes is a middle school skill that we will master this year. I dictated the notes for Quiz 1 to students today. Each quiz will be preceded by notes, which need to be studied nightly for mastery.
