There is no school on Monday. I hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend! There will not be a spelling or CE list next week. Next week's Memory Verse is a longer one, but it won't be quizzed until 9/12.

The kiddos created their cuneiform monograms and decided that they are very glad they are not Sumerians.

Reading project guidelines went home yesterday. This should not be a surprise, as your child should have shared it with you. They must pick one project from the six choices to complete. It is due next Wednesday, September 3.

Lower School Chapel will begin on Thursday, September 18. We will be doing a series on the 10 Commandments.

We did a writing assignment today comparing this year to last year. It was a 12-18 sentence paragraph. This is to give me a baseline for where each student is with their writing skills. Several students did not turn this in. They know who they are. Please ask your kiddo if this is something they need to work on to finish it this weekend.

Today, the kids were excited (no, really....they were!) to receive the guideline packet for the Insect Collection Project. Right now, the focus should simply be on collecting insects. Later this week I will do a lesson on pinning, so your child should have an insect in your freezer if they did last night's homework!

Lower School Open House is Thursday, we will begin in the church's Worship Center, then adjourn to the classrooms. Please make plans to have someone from your household visit the Ant Hill for important information about this school year!
