Packing List:
For bag under the bus:
  • shorts or pants
  • extra shirt
  • underwear
  • pajamas
  • socks
  • brush
  • deodorant
  • toothbrush
  • toothpaste
For bag on the bus:
  • spending money for gift shop
  • quiet things to to on the ride (DS, iPod, book, Kindle/Nook, etc.)
  • small pillow/blanket
  • light jacket
  • camera

Odds and Ends:
-Electronics are fine to bring, as long as you realize each person is responsible for keeping up with their own items. On the bus, electronics will need to have the volume turned off, or have earbuds.
-I will be providing "on the bus" snacks and drinks for the kids. Adults may bring along drinks or snacks for themselves, but will not need to pack additional for the kids.
-All meals will be provided for the kids.
-Adults will need money for two lunches and two suppers.
-Breakfasts on BOTH days will be provided for adults and kids.
-T-shirts are in and were passed out yesterday. Arrive Thursday morning in your t-shirt. These will be the "uniform" for both days of the trip. I will collect, wash, and return them to you on Thursday night.
-If at all possible, I recommend not leaving your car in the school parking lot. It takes out the risk for any vandalism.

2014 SCISA Literary Meet

Congratulations to Anderson and Mary Mac for competing in the 2014 SCISA Literary Meet yesterday. Cathedral had two high school winners this year!
One idea is to use a shadowbox to showcase your collection.
Another idea is to use a crafting box to organize your collection.
The students were able to go to the Mobile Gem Mine today. It was a lot of fun! Because of this, they have an extra credit opportunity. If they create a labeled display of their rocks and minerals, I will replace their lowest notebook grade from Chapter 4 with a 100. Above a a couple of ideas to help you. Another thought is to glue your samples to foam core board. Be as creative as you wish! All projects need to be brought in by next Friday, February 14th. You are welcome to add other rocks or minerals that you might have collected from other places.
